Chafer’s is the first Dispensational Systematic Theology, and it’s still the best.
In fact, it’s the best of any Systematic ever published. And it works great with
theWord. Go get it and install it now!
Costas has set this up so that you can see each of the 8 volumes in the Book Tree.
With the ability to be able to expand and/or collapse the individual volumes, it
makes finding exact chapters very quick. See Screen Shot 1. Nicely done indeed.
When you click on an individual chapter, theWord very quickly takes you there. See
Screen Shot 2. Of course the Scripture references are pop-up; but the “find” feature
is absolutely great. Highlight a word like “redemptionist” and right-click, then
choose “find redemptionist...” and theWord quickly searches and finds every occurrence
of that word, in every module you have, shows you the entire article, and highlights
“redemptionist” for easy study. Wow! (NOTE: the first time you search your entire
library, theWord builds an index for each book. Depending on the size of your library,
this could take a few minutes or more. After the initial index build, the search
will be very fast - just a couple of seconds.)
The final screen shot shows Chafer’s Volume 7. He calls it “Doctrinal Summarization.”
I would call it “Chafer’s Theological Dictionary.” There are 184 separate alphabetized
entries like “faith,” “election,” “Zion,” etc. Again, theWord allows this to be searched
in incredibly helpful ways.
